'Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”

- Carl Jung

Afternoon Light

Welcome, I'm glad you're here!

Sometimes it takes the gentle mirroring of another person to help us see what is no longer working in our lives. Habits formed to survive difficult childhoods may be wrecking havoc. Communication styles may be sabotaging love. We may feel overwhelmed in parenting, or facing a big life transition.

I work closely with my clients to increase communication skills and develop greater personal awareness. I teach nervous system regulation in order to stay calm and effective during conflict, difficult conversations, and life transitions. From therapy you’ll learn to operate from wholeness and authenticity, and gain acceptance for self/others.
ABOUT

ABOUT ME

EDUCATION

I love the quote above from Jung, because to me it sums up good therapy. We all have things in our lives that are unconscious. The process of therapy is taking a flashlight to shed light on those things and make them more conscious. We do this work together, in the safe container of the client-therapist relationship.

I've felt this my calling from a young age and thoroughly enjoy the process of therapy. I bring my own life experiences when appropriate, I see my own therapist weekly, and I utilize a variety of modalities in my approach. I am heart-centered as well as client-centered and I understand and respect our human nature. We all make mistakes and we all need support in this lifetime. I hope to provide a safe space for you to explore and examine your life  - both what's working and what's not working, and to help make the "unconscious conscious."

EXPERIENCE

I specialize in working with couples and receive ongoing training from The Couples Institute Counseling Services (formerly The Couples Institute). I have been a contracted therapist there since 2016.

Prior to working with couples, I taught high school seniors and lead youth retreats for many years. I love working with teens and college aged students as this is a special time in life filled with self discovery. The journey to gaining autonomy through individuating from the family system is not without difficulty and some growing pains, however. I love helping families and young adults navigate this time in their development.

I am also available to work with individuals. I have extensive experience working with everything from anxiety and depression, to life transitions, grief and loss, burnout, and career changes to name a few.
